Abstract
This paper explores the rapid adoption of digital payment systems and online marketplaces in Uzbekistan over the past five years. By surveying 250 local consumers and interviewing three major retail managers, the study analyzes the behavioral shifts caused by the introduction of localized e-commerce platforms. The findings indicate that trust in digital payments has increased by 40%, yet logistical challenges in last-mile delivery remain the primary barrier to total market saturation.
1. Introduction
Over the last decade, Central Asia has experienced a digital renaissance, with Uzbekistan leading the charge in mobile internet adoption. Historically reliant on traditional cash-based bazaars, the capital city of Tashkent has seen a sudden and sharp pivot toward e-commerce. This transition is not merely technological but deeply cultural...

A mixed-methods approach was utilized for this investigation. Quantitative data was gathered through a structured online survey distributed to 250 residents of Tashkent, segmented by age and income. Qualitative insights were derived from semi-structured interviews with operational managers from three leading local delivery services (Uzum, Payme, and Click)...
3. Results & Discussion
The data revealed a stark generational divide in e-commerce adoption. Respondents under the age of 30 reported using online marketplaces at least once a week, citing convenience and promotional discounts as primary drivers. Conversely, respondents over the age of 50 expressed significant skepticism regarding the security of digital transactions...

4. Conclusion
E-commerce in Tashkent is no longer a nascent industry; it is a fundamental component of the urban economy. For local businesses to thrive, they must prioritize transparent digital payment integrations and invest heavily in localized logistical infrastructure. Future research should examine the impact of e-commerce on rural provinces outside the capital.
